Now THAT’S refreshing!

1 grapefruit

1-2 tbsp lime juice ( I tend to like a good kick of citrus so I usually just use the whole lime )

half of a cucumber ( peeled )

1/2 cup pinapple ( frozen or fresh )

1/4 cup of cilantro

1/4 tsp ground vanilla bean

1 cup water

Blend and drink it like one of those dudes on a gatorade commercial!  This is full of healthy sugars and refreshing antioxidants to quench and satisfy your every growing and healthy body.

*Cilantro is a natural anti-inflammatory and major antioxidant! It also is a good source of fiber and has also been found to remove heavy metals like mercury, aluminum, and lead from the body. Pretty neat for such a sweet looking herb right?!

Chocolate Banana Shake!

1 banana

1 date

1 tbsp cacao powder

1 cup water

1 tsp macha powder

Put it all your high speed blend and go to town!

* Raw Cacao benefits are many but I love the fact that not only are they  high in antioxidants but also a high source of magnesium which is the most deficient mineral in the average human body. Don’t want to over do it though so one serving a day is just right.

Hempseed Basil Pesto Wraps GORILLA FOOD STYLES!

1-2 garlic cloves

3 cups fresh basil leaves

1/2 cup walnuts

1/4 salt

3 tbsp hemp seeds

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp lemon juice

My way is just throwing it all in my highspeed blender and switching that bad boy on but you can also use a food processor as well :)  Then to make the wraps cut down the sides of the collard and there’s your perfectly edible wrap ready to go! Use whatever veggies you love!

Thanks to this magical place and recipe book by Aaron Ash called Gorilla Food which he’s created this most amazing Hemp Seed Basil Pesto! Check out the book and you will literally go bananas.

* Hemp is a high protein seed containing all nine of the essential amino acids ( like flax) . It also has high amouts of fatty acids and fiber as well as containing vitamin E and trace minerals. I assure you this will get you high on protein and life! :)

Tapioca Chia Pudding!

1 cup cashews

2 1/2 cups water

2 tablespoons agave nectar (or honey)

2 vanilla seeds (or 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract)

A tiny tiny tiny tiny splash of almond extract

1 teaspoon cinnamon

pinch sea salt

1/4 cup chia seeds

Blend everything but the chia seeds! In a bowl pour mixture over chia and place in fridge for atleast 3 hours or over night. Top with anything that suits your fancy!

*Chia is very rich in omega-3 fatty acids, even more so than flax seeds. Chia seeds  also provide fiber (25 grams give you 6.9 grams of fiber) as well as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, copper, iron, molybdenum, niacin, and zinc. PRETTY COOL HUH?!

Because happiness is our birthright.

I remember as a little girl growing up eating my mums brilliant salads full of garlic, avocados and love. Listening to my dad talk about which farmer he bought the apple I was biting into and the smell of fresh basil in the backseat of the car as we drove home from the local market. The seed was planted. Relationships, music, yoga, and mother earth have rained there love on that small speck of potential and at 31 that seed is beginning to evolve and bloom into a flourishing flower.
